Time is Running Out for January 1 Coverage

You recently received a notice from NY State of Health about what actions you need to take, if any, to renew your health plan for 2025. It is important that you act soon to avoid any gap in your health insurance.

The renewal period is happening now. Complete the following 3 steps no later than December 15 for coverage that begins on January 1, 2025.

Here’s what you need to do:

1) Read your Renewal Notice and Follow the Instructions
You should have received either a NY State of Health Renewal Notice by mail or an email telling you to read the Renewal Notice online. It explains:

  • What health insurance program you qualify for in 2025
  • Your cost for health insurance in 2025
  • Actions you should take, if any, to renew your health insurance for 2025 and avoid gaps in coverage

2) Tell Us What’s New in Your Life
Has your income, family size or address changed? Tell us at nystateofhealth.ny.gov or 1-855-355-5777 (TTY: 1-800-662-1220). It could make a big difference in what insurance you can buy or how much you'll pay, if anything.

3) Choose a Health Plan
To see your choices and pick a health plan for 2025, visit nystateofhealth.ny.gov. Or, you can get help comparing your options so you can make a choice by contacting a certified enrollment assistor or calling us.

The Customer Service Center is open during these hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 8:00am – 8:00pm
