Jeff Beck played the clavinet-inspired guitar riff on the original demo of Superstition that Stevie Wonder then kept for himself — and the resulting funk guitar riff is one of the most recognizable and widely imitated in pop music history. Beck's tone, attack, and syncopation created a guitar part so percussive and locked-in that it transcended the instrument. The song won the Grammy for Best Rhythm & Blues Song in 1974.
