Succession, created by Jesse Armstrong for HBO, is a darkly comic drama following the Roy family — the dysfunctional owners of a global media and entertainment conglomerate — as they compete, scheme, and betray one another for control of the company. Brian Cox as patriarch Logan Roy delivered one of the great performances in television history, and the supporting cast — Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfadyen — was uniformly brilliant. The show won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series in 2020, 2022, and 2023 and its series finale is widely regarded as one of the best in television history.
