Getting GitHub Copilot running in VS Code takes less than 5 minutes.
Steps
- Sign up at github.com/features/copilot (free trial available)
- Open VS Code
- Go to Extensions (Ctrl+Shift+X)
- Search "GitHub Copilot" and install
- Sign in with your GitHub account when prompted
- Look for the Copilot icon in the bottom status bar — green = active
Also Install
"GitHub Copilot Chat" extension for the chat sidebar interface.
