Some reading comprehension questions ask you to click on the specific sentence in the passage that answers the question.
Format: "Select the sentence that provides evidence for the author's claim about X."
You click directly on a sentence in the passage. No answer choices.
Strategy:
1. Understand exactly what the question asks for (evidence, example, counterpoint, etc.)
2. Re-read the passage sentence by sentence
3. For each sentence, ask: does this directly address what the question asks?
4. The correct sentence will be specific and directly relevant, not tangential
Common mistake: Selecting a sentence that mentions the topic but doesn't serve the specific function asked about. A sentence about climate change isn't necessarily evidence for a specific claim about climate change.
