Quant: 27 questions in 47 minutes = ~104 seconds per question

Writing: 30 minutes for one essay

Time allocation by question type:

Quantitative Comparison: 60-90 seconds (fastest)

Text Completion (1 blank): 60 seconds

Text Completion (2-3 blanks): 90-120 seconds

Sentence Equivalence: 60-90 seconds

Reading Comp (short passage): 3-4 minutes total

Reading Comp (long passage): 5-7 minutes total

The 2-Minute Rule: If you've spent 2 minutes and aren't making progress, mark it and move on.

Critical: The GRE is section-adaptive. A strong first section gets you harder (higher-scoring) questions in the second. Front-load your accuracy.
