These questions give you a passage with 1-3 blanks to fill.
1-blank questions: 5 answer choices. Pick one.
2-blank questions: 3 choices per blank. Must get BOTH right.
3-blank questions: 3 choices per blank. Must get ALL THREE right. No partial credit.
Strategy:
1. Read the entire sentence/passage FIRST — don't look at choices yet
2. Predict your own word for each blank based on context clues
3. Look for signal words: "however" (contrast), "moreover" (continuation), "because" (cause)
4. Match your prediction to the closest answer choice
5. For multi-blank questions, start with the easiest blank — whichever one has the strongest context clues
Key insight: The passage ALWAYS contains enough information to determine the answer. You're not guessing — you're reading for clues.
