Model cards are documentation pages for every model on the Hub — they describe what the model does, how it was trained, what it's good at, and what risks it carries.

What a Good Model Card Contains

  • Model description: Architecture, training data, intended use
  • Performance metrics: Benchmark results on standard datasets
  • Intended use and limitations: What it's designed for and where it fails
  • Bias and risks: Known failure modes and biases
  • License: Commercial use permissions

Why They Matter

Always read the model card before using a model in production. The license and limitations sections are critical — some models prohibit commercial use entirely.
