Deductions — The Secret to Speed

After diagramming all rules, STOP. Before touching any question, look for deductions.

Where deductions hide:

Overlap: Two rules share an entity. "A before B" + "B before C" = A before B before C.

Restricted spots: If position 1 can only be A or D, write that down. It'll answer questions instantly.

Forced placements: If a block (CD) and a rule (C not in 5) combine to eliminate all but one spot.

Floaters: Entities with NO rules. They can go anywhere. Identify them so you don't waste time.

The payoff: 3-4 minutes on setup + deductions means questions take 20-30 seconds each instead of 2 minutes. This is how top scorers finish games with time to spare.
