Main point: What is the passage primarily about?

Detail: According to the passage...

Inference: It can be inferred that...

Function: The author mentions X in order to...

Attitude/Tone: The author's attitude toward X is...

Strengthen/Weaken: Which would most support/undermine...


Strategy: Read for structure, not memorization. Know the main point, the author's opinion, and where key details are located.
