
1. Too restrictive too fast. Leads to bingeing and quitting. Transition gradually.
2. Not enough variety. Eating only rice and miso. You need the full spectrum of vegetables, beans, sea vegetables.
3. Too much salt. Miso + soy sauce + gomasio + umeboshi = easy to over-salt. Use less than you think.
4. Avoiding all oil. Small amounts of sesame oil are necessary. Zero oil = dry skin, constipation, low energy.
5. Making it a religion. Judging others, preaching, guilt. Food is nourishment, not morality.
6. Ignoring your body. If something does not feel right, adjust. Macrobiotics is a framework, not a prison.
7. Not chewing. The most overlooked practice. Changes everything.
