Macrobiotic Home Remedies

Before modern medicine, people used food as medicine. Macrobiotics preserves this tradition.

Ume-sho-kuzu — Digestion, fatigue, alkalizing (see dedicated card)

Daikon drink — Grated daikon + soy sauce + ginger + hot water. Breaks fever, dissolves mucus.

Sweet vegetable drink — Calms sugar cravings, relaxes tight conditions.

Lotus root tea — Grated lotus + hot water. Respiratory congestion, coughs.

Adzuki/kombu/squash — Kidney strengthening. Cooked as a thick stew.

Ginger compress — Hot towel soaked in ginger water. Applied externally for pain, stiffness, stagnation.

Principle: These are first-line responses. See a doctor for serious conditions. Food remedies support, not replace, medical care.
