
Millet — Yang, alkaline. Spleen/stomach. 2.5:1 water.
Barley (hulled) — Cooling, liver health. Avoid pearl barley (refined).
Oats — Warming. Steel-cut or groats. Soak overnight.
Buckwheat — Very yang, warming. Winter grain. Not wheat — a seed.
Quinoa — Lighter, yin. Complete protein. Summer/transition.
Corn — Yin. Organic only (GMO risk).
Rule: Rice 4–5 days/week. Rotate others through remaining days.
