
YIN (expansive, cooling): Sugar, alcohol, tropical fruits, coffee, milk
YANG (contracting, warming): Red meat, eggs, hard cheese, excess salt
BALANCED (center): Whole grains, beans, vegetables, sea vegetables, fermented foods
Key Insight: Extreme yin creates cravings for extreme yang and vice versa. Steak → ice cream craving. The cycle breaks when you eat from the center.
Practical: Scattered/cold → more yang (warm soup, roots). Tense/hot → more yin (steamed greens, lighter cooking).
