
You don't always need to find the right answer. Eliminate wrong ones.
On a 4-choice question:
Random guess: 25% chance
Eliminate 1: 33% chance
Eliminate 2: 50% chance
Common elimination patterns:
Extreme language: "always," "never," "all," "none" — usually wrong in Reading
Out of scope: Introduces a topic not in the passage
Opposite: Says the reverse of the passage
Half right: First part correct, second part wrong
Strategy: Use the digital SAT's strikethrough feature. Forcing yourself to engage with each choice improves accuracy.
No penalty for guessing. Never leave a question blank. Ever.
