
Naturalization is the legal process by which a non-citizen becomes a US citizen.
Basic requirements:
Be at least 18 years old
Be a Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) for 5 years (3 years if married to a US citizen)
Have continuous residence in the US
Have physical presence for at least 30 months of the past 5 years
Be a person of good moral character
Pass the English and civics tests
Steps in the process:
1. File Form N-400 (Application for Naturalization)
2. Biometrics appointment
3. Interview with USCIS officer
4. Civics and English test
5. Take the Oath of Allegiance
